It's no great secret that I'm not a fan of Family Circus. That doesn't change the fact that a great many people were. Neither does it change the fact that the motivation behind Keane's work was admirable. He dedicated his life to providing a daily snapshot of the world as he hoped it could be: where children are free to be naive and precocious and where families are endlessly patient. Hell, every now and then it made even me smile.
Thank you, Bill Keane, for all of the laughs, whether they were intended or not.
